Texas targets hitting other junior days

Texas’ first junior day isn’t scheduled until Feb. 12, when the Longhorns will bring in more than a dozen of the top 2013 players on their recruiting board.

But several schools will have a chance to get those players to campus before Texas with junior days that begin as early as this week. Numerous Texas targets will attend those junior days.

HornsNation takes a look at those recruits and where they will be headed:

Safety George Baltimore (Mansfield, Texas/Mansfield) will be at Baylor’s junior day on Jan. 29 and then at Oklahoma’s Feb. 4. He has an offer to attend a Texas junior day.

Quarterback J.T. Barrett (Wichita Falls, Texas/Rider) is scheduled to attend Texas Tech’s junior day on Jan. 28. He has a verbal offer from the Red Raiders.

Barrett, one of Texas’ top quarterback targets, will probably attend Texas’ second junior day on Feb. 25. It is unclear whether he will attend junior days at Baylor and Oklahoma. Nebraska has also verbally offered the 6-foot-1, 209-pound quarterback.

Defensive tackle Isaiah Golden (Elysian Fields, Texas/Elysian Fields) is scheduled to be at Texas A&M’s junior day on Jan. 28. Golden is also scheduled to attend TCU’s on Feb. 11 and Texas’ first junior day on Feb. 12.

Defensive end Deon Hollis (Missouri City, Texas/Marshall) is scheduled to be at Texas Tech’s junior day on Jan. 28, Texas’ on Feb. 12 and California on Feb. 18.

Offensive lineman Darius James (Harker Heights, Texas/Harker Heights) will attend Baylor’s junior day on Jan. 29. He will be at Texas’ junior day on Feb. 12 and could travel to Oklahoma in early March.

Athlete Ricky Seals-Jones (Sealy, Texas/Sealy) will attend LSU’s junior day on Feb. 4. The Tigers have offered Seals-Jones in both football and basketball. He will attend Texas’ junior day on Feb. 12.

Defensive tackle Justin Manning (Dallas/Kimball) is scheduled to be at Baylor’s junior day on Jan. 29. Manning, whose older brother is former Oklahoma defensive tackle Demarcus Granger, will also visit the Sooners on Feb. 4 and the Longhorns on Feb. 12.

Safety Kameron Miles (Mesquite, Texas/West) is scheduled to be at Texas A&M’s junior day on Jan. 28, Baylor’s on Jan. 29, Oklahoma’s on Feb. 4 and Texas’ on Feb. 12.

Wide receiver Jake Oliver (Dallas, Texas/Jesuit) is scheduled to attend Texas A&M’s junior day on Feb. 28. Oliver’s father, Gary, played for the Aggies. He is also likely to attend junior days at LSU (Feb. 4), Arkansas (Feb. 11), Texas (Feb. 12) and Oklahoma State (Feb. 18).

The Longhorns will offer Oliver as he is one of, if not the top receiver on their board for 2013.

Offensive tackle Kent Perkins (Richardson, Texas/Lake Highlands) is scheduled to be at Baylor on Jan. 29 and Texas on Feb. 12.

Offensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson (Fort Worth, Texas/Arlington Heights) could attend Texas A&M’s junior day on Feb. 28 and then travel to Baylor on Feb. 29. He has an invitation to attend Texas’ junior day on Feb. 12. He is a lock to get offered by the Longhorns.

Wide receiver Ra’Shaad Samples (Dallas/Skyline) will be at Texas A&M on Jan. 28, Baylor on Jan. 29, Texas on Feb. 12 an Oklahoma State on Feb. 18.

Quarterback Tyrone Swoopes (Whitewright, Texas/Whitewright) will attend Baylor’s junior day on Jan. 29. Swoopes, one of Texas’ top quarterback prospects, will be in Austin on Feb. 12.

Running back Dontre Wilson (DeSoto, Texas/DeSoto) is scheduled to attend Texas A&M’s junior day on Jan. 28, Texas Feb. 12 and Oklahoma State on Feb. 18.

Offensive tackle Ishmael Wilson (Dallas/Bishop Dunne) is scheduled to visit LSU on Feb. 4 and Texas on Feb. 12.
