Texas will not offer TE Hobbs

The Longhorns will not offer tight end Vincent Hobbs (Mesquite, Texas/Horn), according to his head coach.

Rodney Webb told HornsNation on Wednesday that Hobbs did not get an offer from the Longhorns after talking with Texas tight ends coach Bruce Chambers.

"They got another commitment," Webb said. The coach did not know who the commitment was.

Hobbs, a three-star tight end, took an official visit to Texas over the weekend and was told he would find out today if he were going to receive an offer from the Longhorns.

Hobbs told HornsNation on Monday that he would accept an offer if one were presented.

Now it looks like the Longhorns will focus their attention, at least offensively, on two prospects: Dorial Green-Beckham (Springfield, Mo./Hillcrest) and Daje Johnson (Pflugerville, Texas/Hendrickson).

Mack Brown is expected to stop by for an in-home visit with Green-Beckham either today or tomorrow. Johnson, a TCU commitment, is scheduled to come to Austin for an official visit on Friday along with Tennessee linebacker commitment Dalton Santos (Van, Texas/Van).
