8h

Here's the latest from the Big 12 on the recruiting trail as we enter the first week of fall camp:

BAYLOR

Total commits: 13

ESPN 300 commits: 6

The latest: Baylor is getting one of the more coveted uncommitted recruits in Texas on campus this weekend when ESPN 300 DT Chris Daniels makes an unofficial visit to Waco. Daniels, ranked No. 119 in the latest ESPN 300, included the Bears in his top 10 in May, and his recruitment still seems to be wide open entering August.

IOWA STATE

Total commits: 5

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: The Cyclones have some some sleeper studs out of the state of Florida in recent years, and LB Jake Hansen could be next in line. Hansen committed to ISU on Saturday after taking visits to Ames as well as Northwestern, Utah, Wake Forest and Army. Iowa State also landed a pledge from juco WR Chris Booker last week.

KANSAS

Total commits: 9

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: The Jayhawks made the top 10 for local standout DE Amani Bledsoe this weekend. The four-star standout from Lawrence is still considering KU, Miami, Missouri, Nebraska, NC State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, TCU and UCLA at this point in his recruitment. Coach David Beaty has to convince kids like Bledsoe to stay home, but that's some tough competition.

KANSAS STATE

Total commits: 8

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: Bill Snyder's coaching staff added two solid out-of-state takes in Oklahoma LB Jimmy McKinney and Texas OG Blake Hickey last week. McKinney didn't have many FBS offers but was drawing more interest from Power 5 programs this summer, while Hickey chose the Wildcats over Houston.

OKLAHOMA

Total commits: 8

ESPN 300 commits: 2

The latest: The Sooners beat out Oregon for a big-time commitment from ESPN 300 California OLB Bryce Youngquist last week. He's ranked No. 133 in the latest ESPN 300 and had claimed he was "90 percent" sure he was going to be a Duck before his unofficial visit to Norman. Oklahoma also landed a pledge from three-star S Chanse Sylvie.

OKLAHOMA STATE

Total commits: 12

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: The Cowboys are up to three pledges along the offensive line thanks to the addition of Texas OT Ryan McCollum, who picked OSU over Houston, Louisiana-Lafayette and six other offers. New offensive line coach Greg Adkins is doing a solid job of evaluating, though ESPN 300 OL Tramonda Moore and several other targets are still up for grabs.

TCU

Total commits: 15

ESPN 300 commits: 5

The latest: The Horned Frogs hosted one of the nation's top athletes on an unofficial visit last week. New Jersey ATH Jordan Fuller, ESPN's No. 149 overall rated recruit, checked out TCU over the weekend after taking a visit to Notre Dame and is being recruited as a defensive back. One advantage for Gary Patterson and his staff: Fuller's father, Bart Fuller, played safety at TCU from 1983-87.

TEXAS

Total commits: 8

ESPN 300 commits: 3

The latest: Texas was the only Big 12 program to crack the top five for S Deontay Anderson, who put his list out on Sunday. Anderson is also still considering Ole Miss, LSU, Texas A&M and USC and says he's hoping to use his official visits to Texas and USC for games during the season. Texas also made the cut to five for ESPN 300 OT Jean Delance.

TEXAS TECH

Total commits: 23

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: Texas Tech beefed up its offensive line class last week with the addition of Virginia OT Zach Adams and Texas OT Travis Bruffy. With 23 commitments on board entering August, Texas Tech leads the nation in verbal commitments as of today, one ahead of Michigan, Iowa and SMU.

WEST VIRGINIA

Total commits: 16

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: Three-star CB Tony Butler now has West Virginia high on his list after receiving an offer from WVU during an unofficial visit last week. Butler is expected to put out his top five in the next few weeks, and it'll likely include the Mountaineers. Clemson, Michigan and Arizona State are also in the mix for the talented corner from Ohio.
