AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas' second junior day on Saturday came and went like the first two weeks ago: without a commitment. But Sunday was a completely different story with three prospects giving their verbal pledges to the Longhorns.
Linebacker Deounderi Davis (Cypress, Texas/Cypress Woods) got the day started with a commitment early Sunday morning. Wide receiver Jacorey Warrick (Houston/Cypress Falls) and defensive end Daeshon Hall (Lancaster, Texas/Lancaster) joined Davis later in the day.
With that, here are a few things to take away from the weekend:

After leaving Austin without offers on Saturday, West Mesquite safety Kameron Miles and receiver Eldridge Massington are starting to figure out their plans going forward.
They can agree on this much: Massington would not commit to the Longhorns unless his friend and teammate can too.
“Me and Kam, we’re making our decision off the same things,” Massington said Sunday. “So I was talking to him about this: If they offer me, they would have to offer him for me to go there.”

On Friday night, Daeshon Hall wasn't planning to attend Texas' second junior day.
Less than 48 hours later, the Lancaster defensive end has given the Longhorns his verbal pledge.
The 6-foot-6, 235-pound speed rusher became Texas' third commit of the day for its 2013 recruiting class, he told HornsNation Sunday night.

Gow waiting to see if he fits in Texas' plan

Trent Gow (Mansfield, Texas/Mansfield) knew Texas wanted to sign two tight ends for its 2013 class, but he was pleasantly surprised to find out he’s just what Longhorn coaches are looking for.
At least that’s the impression Gow got after spending time with tight ends coach Bruce Chambers during Texas’ junior day Saturday.
“They said they’re looking for one who can block,” Gow said. “I guess most of theirs are a bunch of receivers who play tight end. They need one who can block and I fit perfectly in that category. I was really impressed.”

Torrodney Prevot has Texas in top three

Torrodney Prevot (Houston/Alief Taylor) won’t join Deoundrei Davis (Cypress, Texas/Cypress Woods) and Jacorey Warrick (Houston/Cypress Falls) as players that committed to Texas on Sunday. But he could if he wanted to.
Prevot (6-foor-4, 220 pounds) took part in Texas’ second junior day on Saturday and, like most everyone else, left without an offer. But he spoke with Longhorns defensive ends coach Oscar Giles a short time ago and picked one up.
“It gives me another option, a good option and they are in my top three schools,” Prevot said. “I don’t know the other schools but I do know Texas is one of them.”

Jacorey Warrick planned to keep quiet when it came to his recruitment. He didn't want to reach a decision without visiting all of his top colleges.
But on Saturday, a visit to Austin was just what Warrick needed to make up his mind. The Houston Cypress Falls athlete got his offer and became commit No. 8 for Texas on Sunday.

If there’s one thing Brett Wade (Kennedale, Texas) wants to show the schools interested in him, it’s that he has a similar initiative in letting schools know he’s equally interested.
After visiting Austin, Texas, for the Longhorns’ junior day Saturday, Wade and his father made a quick trip eastward to College Station, Texas, for an unofficial visit to Texas A&M. Wade, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound linebacker, was scheduled to visit Texas but decided to make the weekend a little more productive with the trip to A&M.
“I actually talked to my dad on Friday about it,” Wade said. “I talked to him about how A&M is coming back into the picture. He said if we’re already going to be down that way, why not go [to A&M], too?”

"Growing up Texas was always the school I looked up to, and I always wanted to go there as a child," Davis said. "I want to bring a national championship back to Texas."

Texas is putting together a smaller recruiting class than normal for 2013, and its coaches are guarding their offers carefully. And if they do offer offer you a spot, be prepared to say yes quickly.
“They want people who want to go to Texas,” defensive end Deon Hollins Jr. (Fort Bend, Texas/Marshall) said. “I think that’s the point they were trying to get across.”

He didn’t get an offer on Saturday, but, to his understanding, that was the case for most everyone else as well.

Richardson (Texas) Lake Highlands coach Scott Smith didn’t want to intervene too much into Kent Perkins’ time at Texas’ junior day on Saturday.
But he did speak with his talented offensive tackle to get a feel for how things went.
“I think right now he is just enjoying hanging out with his mom and grandmother,” Smith said. “He had a great time today. That was the big part of what he told me. He said, ‘Coach, it was a great time.’ He got to meet all of the guys, got to meet with Mack [Brown.] He got to see the campus in a different light today. It sounded like he had a great time, and those were the words he used, which makes it even better.”
