Strange seeing legions of soccer fans cheering about losses and ties, but that's World Cup group play for you. Next up in the knockout rounds, they'll settle any ties with a penalty-kick shootout. Seems only slightly more fair. At least college football has the Kansas tiebreaker and not some kind of punt, pass and catch exhibition.

TYRONE, Ga. -- With three Georgia coaches watching on the sideline on Friday night, defensive tackle Chris Williams (Tyrone, Ga./Sandy Creek) picked an inopportune time to do his first Willie Beamen impression. Like the quarterback from “Any Given Sunday”, Williams was sick to his stomach on the field, but shook it off and kept playing.

Radi Nabulsi/ESPN.comTyrone, Ga., junior defensive tackle Chris Williams is seeing plenty of interest pick up in his recruitment.
“We fought,” Williams said. “I was throwing up a lot tonight. I don’t know why. I think I ate too much of the pregame meal. We had chicken biscuits and potatoes. I have never had that happen before. I guess it was because I ate three chicken biscuits. Eat big, play big.”

Teammate and Georgia commit Shaq Wiggins joked that Williams was eating biscuits “like Starbursts.”

Coming out of Banneker High School in College Park, Ga., Roderick "Toby" Johnson (Hutchinson, Kan./Hutchinson CC) had no offers to play football at a major college program. Looking back, Johnson feels things could not have gone any better for him.

“I was raw and not ready to play major college football,” Johnson said. “I had only played for one year, so going juco was the best thing that could have happened to me. I really got a lot of one-on-one coaching and I became faster, bigger and more physical.”

Last fall, Johnson recorded 44 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, two sacks, five passes broken up, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery for the Blue Dragons. Now considered one of the most coveted juco prospects in the 2013 class, he has more than 20 offers from schools across the country -- including Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Miami (Fla.), Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC and West Virginia -- and he feels Arizona State and FSU could be next to extend scholarships.
