QB has interest from mom’s alma mater

By Damon Sayles

Sophomore quarterback Blake Lynch (Troup, Texas/Troup) recently picked up his first offer from an SEC school. If his recruiting were up to his mother, only one SEC school would matter.

Lynch’s mother, Rebecca Acy, went to Texas A&M, and according to Lynch, if she had her way, he would follow her footsteps to College Station, Texas. Lynch recently picked up interest from Texas A&M, and he said the Aggies have been a team to watch for a while.

“I’m very interested,” the 2015 prospect said of Texas A&M. “I like their offense; I think it fits me. Plus, my mom went to A&M.”

“I talked to their QBs coach [Jake Spavital], and he told me he wants to come out to a camp. He said they’re interested in me.”

Lynch, a 6-foot-3, 192-pound, dual-threat quarterback, picked up his first offer last Wednesday, from Mississippi State. He also has interest from Baylor, Texas Tech, Texas and Alabama.

Lynch said he is looking into summer visits to Baylor and Texas Tech. He’s also looking to check out his mother’s alma mater.

“She said that it’s a friendly atmosphere and that it’s a good school,” Lynch said. “I know she’d like for me to go there.”
