Sanders is a quick and disruptive outside linebacker. He lacks ideal size but has the height for the position and a good frame to add bulk. He has long arms and uses them to drag down ball carriers. He flashes good playing strength but we question his ability to hold his base at the point of attack. He might be limited to heavy outside pressure schemes. He shows good effort in pursuit, particularly his short-range football speed. He is a fast-twitched player who will come off the edge and make plays in the backfield. He is aggressive and will use his quickness to side-step blocks rather than taking on blockers and anchoring. He can set the edge when aligned in a two-point stance on the line of scrimmage. He plays with above-average leverage but will need to work his hands more consistently to disengage. He flashes sideline-to-sideline range but makes more plays with his short area burst. He shows underneath zone awareness and will read the QB, gather quickly and transition forward. He flashes a feel for passing windows and can get his hands on the ball. Sanders could see early playing time as a situational pass rusher at the BCS level or even challenge for a starting role with the right defensive scheme.
