Top four for ESPN Junior 300 RB
By Damon Sayles
SAN ANTONIO -- Ja'Mycal Hasty (Longview, Texas/Longview) left the U.S. Army combine with a big smile on his face. The ESPN Junior 300 running back said he ran a hand-held time of 4.29 seconds in the 40-yard dash -- a blazing time on an Alamodome turf notorious for haunting the fastest athletes with slower times.
Hasty also said that while recruiting is at a standstill, he has an early list of favorites.
“Right now, it’s Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor and Oklahoma State, in no order,” Hasty said. “I plan on going to A&M for a junior day. I know I want to get to Texas Tech and also go to Stillwater [Okla.]. I’ve never been [to Oklahoma State], but I know they have a good offense and love to run the ball.
Hasty, a 5-foot-8, 184-pound running back, is ranked No. 8 nationally at his position for the 2015 class. He has additional offers from Texas, TCU and Houston.
