The first trip Houston Cypress Falls 2015 defensive tackle Du'Vonta Lampkin made to Texas A&M this spring was an enjoyable one.
So on Saturday, Lampkin decided to make a return trip to Aggieland for the Maroon-and-White spring football game.
Both visits have left positive impressions on Lampkin.
"It was pretty fun," Lampkin said of the Aggies' spring game. "I liked everything, just like last week."
Lampkin said the Aggies initially expressed interest in him at the end of March, a day after he attended Texas' spring game. He got the invite to the Aggies' Friday Night Lights scrimmage on April 5 and liked what he saw.
"It was pretty nice," he said. "Everyone that was there, the alumni and everything, it was pretty nice. I wasn't expecting that many people to go to Friday Night Lights but there were a lot of people."
Texas A&M's record spring game crowd of 45,212 impressed him when he made the trip back to College Station, Texas.
"Like the whole city was at the game," Lampkin said.
He had the chance to visit with both his area recruiting coach, Jeff Banks, and defensive line coach Terry Price.
"I got 1-on-1 time with both of them," Lampkin said. "They were telling me that they like my film and that they're interested in me and they could offer me in the spring. They just have to evaluate me a little more because I barely got any playing time [last] year."
