Each week this season, GigEmNation will rank Texas A&M's top 10 performers of the season up to this point. After 10 games this season, including Saturday's upset win over Alabama, here's a glance at who has shined so far:
1. QB Johnny Manziel
For coming up so big in such a significant game, the redshirt freshman vaults back to the top of the list. He was impressive on Saturday in the win over the Crimson Tide, completing 24-of-31 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for 92 yards on 18 carries. He didn't turn the ball over once and made some big-time throws when the situation called for it. His early game scrambles also kept the Tide off balance and helped the Aggies jump out to a 20-0 lead.
2. DE Damontre Moore
The junior had to work for everything he got against the Crimson Tide offensive line, but still garnered a sack and five tackles. For the year, he is still tied for the nation's lead in that category and maintained his tackles for loss lead (20).
3. LT Luke Joeckel
The junior has been a model of consistency all season and Saturday was no different, even against a defense the caliber of Alabama's.
4. RT Jake Matthews
Like Joeckel, Matthews also has been solid week in and week out and also was a big reason why the Aggies continue to produce offensively like they did Saturday (418 yards).
5. WR Ryan Swope
Swope's peaking and had perhaps his best game of the year on Saturday. It wasn't the senior's biggest yardage total, but considering the opponent and caliber of defense, his 11-catch, 111-yard, one-touchdown performance was huge. He made some big time catches in traffic that were momentum boosts
6. WR Mike Evans
Evans isn't 100 percent but is still playing well and made some tough catches on Saturday. He caught five passes for 40 yards and still holds the team lead with 61 catches for 842 yards and two touchdowns.
7. LB Steven Jenkins
Jenkins had six tackles and a pass breakup win the win over Alabama. He's third on the team with 58 tackles this season and second on the team with five tackles for loss.
8. LB Sean Porter
Porter tied for the team lead with seven tackles and also had an interception in the first quarter. The pick came as the result of a hit by Howard Matthews that jarred the ball loose from a receiver. Porter has played well as of late and is fourth on the team with 54 tackles.
9. C Patrick Lewis
The senior has been a stabilizing veteran presence for the offensive line and still continues to do all that is asked of him from the center position, from calling protections to keeping the tempo high.
10. RB Ben Malena
Malena had 14 carries for 50 yards and still leads the team's running backs with 687 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
