- Sam Khan, Texas A&M/SEC reporter
Mesquite (Texas) West Mesquite safety Kameron Miles is the most recent 2013 prospect to get an offer from Texas A&M, receiving one on Monday.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound safety, who is an ESPN 300 member, is currently committed to Tennessee. GigEmNation's Sam Khan Jr. caught up with Miles recently to get some additional thoughts on where his recruiting stands.
Sam Khan Jr.: What were your thoughts on the offer from Texas A&M?
Kameron Miles: "It's a good offer. If I do open my recruiting process up, that would be a school that I would look at."
SK: How has your season gone overall?
KM: "I've made a couple of plays. I've been scoring on offense. From a defensive standpoint, I think teams have game-planned away from me. Plays don't come to me. I have one interception this season but I really don't get a lot of plays coming my way."
SK: You're currently committed to Tennessee. What are your thoughts on the Volunteers and where do you stand with them currently?
KM: "I'm still committed. If everything goes the way I think it's going to go, then I will consider Tennessee still if they still offer. If they don't, then I'm going to have to open my recruiting process up and look at my options."
SK: I know there has been a lot of speculation regarding the future of the head coach at Tennessee, Derek Dooley. If a coaching change were to happen, would that affect your commitment status and your decision?
SK: Have any other schools continued to reach out to you?
KM: "Arizona State."
SK: Have you scheduled any official visits or have plans for any upcoming?
KM: "I went to Tennessee and Arizona State. I'm planning on taking a visit to A&M after the season."
SK: What do you think of what Texas A&M has accomplished this season?
KM: "I'm surprised by A&M. The talk around was that for A&M, it was going to be tough, but they shut up the critics that talked about how they were going to do in the SEC. [They've surprised people] especially with their new offensive system. I didn't know it was going to be that effective in the SEC."
