Each week this season, GigEmNation will rank Texas A&M's top 10 performers of the season up to this point. After eight games this season, including Saturday's win over Auburn, here's a glance at who has shined so far:
1. DE Damontre Moore
Moore didn't have one of the high-tackle games that he has become accustomed to in recent weeks, recording three against Auburn, but he still recorded a sack, giving him 10.5 for the year (third in the FBS). Moore also maintains his national lead in tackles for loss (18).
2. QB Johnny Manziel
The redshirt freshman quarterback returned to his "Johnny Football" ways, compiling 350 total yards and accounting for five touchdowns against Auburn. The impressive part about those numbers is that they were recorded in little more than two quarters, as Manziel and the first-team offense didn't play after the first offensive drive of the third quarter.
3. LT Luke Joeckel
The Aggies ran for a season-high 352 yards and allowed just one sack. The entire offensive line was impressive, and Joeckel was a big part of that with his work in pass protection and in the running game.
4. RT Jake Matthews
Again, the offensive line was simply dominant on Saturday. Matthews did a good job in both pass protection and in the running game on the right side of the line to help fuel the Aggies' offensive output.
5. WR Mike Evans
Evans was bothered a little bit by a hamstring injury but still managed to catch five passes for 80 yards. For the season, Evans is up to 47 catches for 705 yards and two touchdowns.
6. WR Ryan Swope
Swope continues to expand his on-field role. For the second straight week he led the team in catches, with six for 140 yards and two touchdowns. He's second on the team in catches with 36 this season for 520 yards and a team-high five receiving touchdowns.
7. LB Steven Jenkins
Jenkins had a team-high seven tackles on Saturday and added a sack, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hurry. For the season he is fourth on the team with 44 tackles and is second with 4.5 tackles for loss.
8. LB Sean Porter
Porter had a sack and a quarterback hurry to go with three tackles in the win against Auburn. He has 43 tackles on the season, is third on the team with four tackles for loss and has 2.5 sacks.
9. C Patrick Lewis
The senior made some key blocks on some big plays, including one on Christine Michael's 34-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. He has been solid all season in leading the offense's effort to dictate tempo, along with pass protection and run blocking.
10. RB Ben Malena
Malena chewed up chunks of yardage when he was in the game, finishing with 63 yards and a touchdown on seven carries (nine yards per carry). He remains the team's rushing leader among running backs (Manziel leads the team overall) with 525 yards and five touchdowns.
