Texas A&M DE Damonte Moore honored

September, 10, 2012
Texas A&M junior defensive end Damontre Moore was named the Southeastern Conference co-Defensive Lineman of the Week for his performance Saturday in the Aggies' season-opening 20-17 loss to Florida.

Moore recorded 10 tackles, including seven solo tackles, and registered three sacks. The sack total put him in the national lead in the category and fifth overall in tackles for loss.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound junior from Rowlett, Texas, made the move to defensive end this year in the Aggies' new 4-3 defense after spending time at outside linebacker for the last two seasons in a 3-4 alignment. He was fourth on the team in tackles last season with 72, led the team in tackles for loss (17.5) and was second on the team in sacks with 8.5.

Moore shared the Defensive Lineman of the Week honors with LSU junior defensive end Sam Montgomery, who had four tackles, a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss in LSU's 41-3 win over Washington.
