After losing a safety prospect early last month, Texas A&M needed to find another to help fill out what has already become an impressive recruiting class.

On Saturday, it appears the Aggies found one.

Texas A&M landed a commitment from three-star safety Donovan Wilson (Shreveport, La./Woodlawn), a former Utah commitment, on Saturday evening.

A source with knowledge of the commitment confirmed the news of Wilson's decommitment from Utah and commitment to Texas A&M to ESPN.com and Wilson tweeted about his commitment shortly after making the pledge.

He is the 23rd commitment in Texas A&M's 2014 class. The Aggies were on the hunt for a safety even before they lost ESPN 300 prospect Dylan Sumner-Gardner (Mesquite, Texas/West Mesquite) but when Sumner-Gardner flipped to Boise State early in January, the need for a safety became more pressing.

Wilson took an official visit to Texas A&M the weekend of Jan. 24 but committed to Utah on Monday. The Aggies continued to pursue Wilson and made enough of an impression to cause Wilson to change his commitment on Saturday.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Wilson is classified as an athlete and is ranked 170th nationally at that spot.

The Aggies are also in the running for a pair of ESPN 300 safeties, Steven Parker (Jenks, Okla./Jenks) and Mattrell McGraw (River Ridge, La./John Curtis Christian). Parker is currently on an official visit to Auburn and is also considering Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. McGraw is down to Oregon and Texas A&M and both prospects are expected to announce their destination on national signing day.
