INDIANAPOLIS -- Turnabout is fair play, and Lonnie Johnson (Gary, Ind./West Side) is starting to play the recruiting game.
A longtime Ohio State lean who wanted to commit to the Buckeyes a few months ago, Johnson stopped himself short of naming Ohio State his leader Monday.
Asked if Ohio State was still his top school, Johnson said: “Yeah, Ohio State," then paused before he said "... really I got a three-headed dragon: It’s Illinois, Nebraska and Ohio State. They’re all at the top of my list. I don’t know where I’m going to go at this point.”

Life as the first freshman Heisman Trophy winner has led to many things for Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel.
Fame is certainly one of them. Whether it's hanging out on stage at a Wale concert or rubbing elbows with NBA stars, Manziel has certainly enjoyed the fringe benefits of the status that comes with being a Heisman winner.

AP Photo/Dave EinselHeisman-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel has had a hectic life since his extraordinary fall campaign. He talked about the latter on Monday in Fort Worth, Texas, when he met with the media in advance of the Davey O'Brien Quarterback Award dinner. Manziel talked about many aspects of his post-Heisman fame, including his class schedule, which consists of four online classes this semester.
"Had my first round of tests last week, so I've been kind of pushing that off as much as possible doing my online stuff, and all three tests and three papers hit me in a week," Manziel said Monday. "It was good to feel like a normal student again, just a busy one."
Initially, Manziel was enrolled in a small English class of about 20-25 students, but it created a stir, so he changed his schedule.
"I didn't think anything of it, and it kind of turned into a little more of a big deal than I thought," Manziel said.
As for his other off-field activities, Manziel said he stays in touch with Texas A&M's compliance department to clear things beforehand.
The talk about Manziel's class schedule has generated much discussion, but readers, what do you think? Is it eyebrow-raising or much ado about nothing?

Brett Davis/US PresswireChristine Michael enters the NFL combine ranked No. 9 among running back prospects.Texas A&M Aggies
Texas A&M's best draft-eligible talent wasn't at the offensive skill positions, but the Aggies offer some nice players who will hear their names called at some point during the NFL draft. Perhaps the Aggies' two best offensive players were redshirt freshmen in quarterback Johnny Manziel and receiver Mike Evans, both of whom appear to have NFL futures in the long run. Meanwhile, these two players who produced impressively during their careers at Texas A&M, are worth keeping an eye on:

"Introducing the class" is a series in which GigEmNation conducts a Q&A session with each of the incoming recruits in Texas A&M's 2013 class to give readers a closer look at each recruit. Today, we visit with Heath (Texas) Rockwall-Heath defensive end Jay Arnold.
Arnold, a 6-foot-4, 265-pound defensive end, was a four-star prospect coming out of Rockwall-Heath. He was ranked 37th nationally at his position and committed to the Aggies on April 9, 2012. Since then, he has been one of the most vocal recruits when it comes to promoting Texas A&M.
In his senior season, he helped Heath earn a berth in the Texas Class 5A Division II playoffs by making 44 tackles and recording 13 sacks. He forced three fumbles and returned a fumble for a touchdown en route to first-team all-district honors. Here's our Q&A with Arnold:

One area that will be a point of focus for Texas A&M fans this spring and heading into the fall will be wide receiver.
Three of the top four receivers from 2012 [in terms of receiving yards] and four of the top six will not be back in 2013. Senior starters Ryan Swope (72 catches, 913 yards), Uzoma Nwachukwu (26 catches, 485 yards) and Kenric McNeal (19 catches, 265 yards) have all graduated and freshman Thomas Johnson (30 catches, 339 yards) withdrew from school in November and appears unlikely to return.
The good news for the Aggies is that their top receiver in terms of catches (82) and yardage (1,105) will be back: redshirt freshman and soon-to-be-sophomore Mike Evans.

K.D. Cannon is already starting to get questions about when he’ll be ready to make a decision.
For the Mount Pleasant (Texas) receiver, the answer is pretty simple: After he’s seen everything he needs to see.
“I’ve got to see all the campuses first before I make my decision,” he said.

Before the 2012 season began, Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin told any media member who would listen that the Aggies planned to use all three scholarship running backs they had at their disposal throughout the season.
That statement turned out to be true as Ben Malena, Christine Michael and Trey Williams all saw work.
With Michael having graduated and preparing for the NFL, the Aggies return two players from the trio in Malena (who started nine games) and Williams. And that backfield will become even more crowded this fall when sophomores Tra Carson and Brandon Williams join the mix.
