MISSOURI CITY, Texas -- With the clock showing triple zeroes and the score in his team's favor, Derrick Griffin (Rosenberg, Texas/Terry) began streaking down the court at Buddy Hopson Fieldhouse, removing his jersey top and revealing an ear-to-ear grin in the process. He couldn't contain himself.
After celebrating for several minutes with his teammates and coaches, the Miami signee turned toward the Terry student section and connected his thumbs, with his fingers on both hands pointed skyward, forming the hand signal known as "The U."
It was as jubilant a moment as the dual-sport star has had in some time. For two weeks, Griffin was mired in uncertainty, not knowing where his athletic future lay. An ESPN 150 football prospect, Griffin did not sign with a college on Feb. 6 -- national signing day -- because he did not have a letter of intent to sign.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- ESPN Watch List tight end Jacory Washington (Westlake, La./Westlake) has a wide range of options when it comes to his college choice.
Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Mississippi, Texas A&M, UCLA, Vanderbilt and Washington are just some of them. And while he does admit there are some schools standing out to him above the rest, Washington doesn't want to get specific.
"I have a couple favorites, but I don't want to mention them," he said.

Up first is a trip to Alabama on January 11, Miami on the 18th and Florida State on the 25th. Williams will decide whether or not to take an official to LSU or Texas A&M at some point, too.
Among his finalists, it seems all have a common thread.

Four-star defensive tackle Deadrin Senat (Immokalee, Fla./Immokalee) backed out of his commitment to Florida State in May, but the 6-foot, 295-pound senior is still considering the Seminoles.
Senat says he keeps in touch with most of the schools that have offered and he hopes to update his recruitment soon.
"I still talk with Florida State and several other schools," Senat says. "Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, South Florida, Missouri, Miami... I try to touch base with most of them.
