Recruits sound off on PSU's junior day

By Josh Moyer

We already offered a brief overview of PSU's newest commit and the four players who received scholarships. But what did the other recruits think about PSU's junior day?

NittanyNation contacted more than a half-dozen other visitors to see what their overall feelings were and what their favorite part was. Here's what they had to say:

LB Troy Reeder (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum): "I'd say my favorite part was just having some time with coach [Ron] Vanderlinden and [head coach Bill] O'Brien. And, after today, I feel even stronger about Penn State."

DT Antoine White (Millville, N.J./Millville): "Overall, it was a great visit. What really wowed me would probably be their academic support system. They were really big on that. A lot of colleges flash their rings and athletic accomplishments -- which is great because everyone, including me, want to go somewhere and win. But, before talking about anything, they got straight to academics. And that's something that got my attention very fast. I am looking forward to them recruiting me. Overall, it was definitely worth the trip."

OT Mike Grimm (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park): "My favorite part was the weight room, and my overall thoughts were definitely with what all PSU football was about and how the program worked."

S Montae Nicholson (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway): "The entire day was great. I had a lot of fun with the other recruits and coaches. My favorite part was definitely the tour of the stadium."

RB Robert Martin (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg): "It went good, but I didn't get an offer yet. I thought it was a real nice campus. ... The most important part was the academic system, but my favorite part was getting to the time to talk to the RB coach and watching a little film on the running backs this year."

QB J.J. Cosentino (Pittsburgh/Pittsburgh Central Catholic): "Had a good trip. It was the first time I've seen the whole campus and facilities in depth -- really nice stuff and lots of tradition. Favorite part was just hanging out with the coaches and getting to know everyone. The coaches are really good guys that care about the players and the program, no matter what."

LB Christian Lezzer (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield): "It was great. I feel like Penn State would be a good fit for me because it has everything that I want in a school. My favorite part was probably the position meeting with Coach Vanderlinden."
