PSU adds second commit of 2014 class
By Josh Moyer
Penn State landed its second commitment -- and a versatile player -- during today's junior day.
Athlete Nick Scott (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) confirmed in a text message that he decided to commit a few hours ago but had yet to inform his friends and teammates. He also held an offer from Boston College, and his recruitment appeared to be picking up.
He's originally from Brookline, Mass., but transferred to Fairfax. He's a versatile player who's also played quarterback, tailback, free safety and linebacker. That should make him a great fit in this class because the Nittany Lions need players they can move around during the next few years.
With 20 fewer scholarships, that athleticism will be at a premium. Penn State has a stable of young tailbacks right now -- redshirt freshman Akeel Lynch, early enrollee Richy Anderson and fellow 2014 commit Mark Allen -- and Scott has the ability to bounce around. Anderson is expected to see time at wideout, too.
