WR Hamilton talks about his favorites

By Josh Moyer

On Friday, RecruitingNation took you behind the scenes on recruiting trips and polled various prospects about their favorite memories on the recruiting trail.

NittanyNation asked two Penn State commits about their favorite-everythings. So, we decided to list wideout DaeSean Hamilton's answers for every category right here.

We listed Andrew Nelson's favorites yesterday.

DaeSean Hamilton was impressed with the campus at Penn State.
Most creative recruiting pitch: "I'd say the most creative was probably between Penn State and UVa. UVa. had a nice outdoor-type of hotel on my visit, and they had everything decked out. And Penn State, they had all types of stuff like calendars and cups -- and their whole visit was cool. So I would say Penn State would be No. 1 actually."

Best facilities: "It was Penn State and Duke, by far. Penn State, the weight room was one of the best ones I had ever seen. They just have everything all set up there, like the practice facility's right outside the weight room, which is cool. They have a nice lounge area with tutors and everything. And Duke, they had indoor facilities set up for practicing. ... The indoor facilities really shocked me the most."

Best individual recruiter: "I'd say it would be Coach [Lonnie] Galloway from Wake Forest. He's not at Wake Forest anymore, but I could just relate to him a lot more. He was really familiar with the things the young kids did, and he liked a lot of the same things recruits liked. He was really close to my family, and I was really close to his family somewhat. He was just someone I could to talk to about everything."

Most annoying part of the recruiting process: "I think the most annoying part was people asking me where I was going, before I was committed anywhere, and where I was considering. It was just having to answer the same things over and over again. The reporters weren't bad, but I kept answering the same questions over and over again."

Best campus: "It's probably between Virginia Tech and Penn State. Penn State, you can see the stadium from almost anywhere on campus. I liked the rolling hills and everything; it's kind of like the city, but not necessarily. Everything's walking distance, and it's nice with all the green grass and trees. And, with Virginia Tech, it was more busy on the roads and stuff -- even if it is more agricultural. But it was a busy campus with a whole lot of students."

Best food: "UVa. I went down there and ate at The Downtown Grille in Charlottesville. I had an 18-ounce ribeye, and it was real good. On the side, I had like a baked potato with shrimp on the inside, and it had melted cheese in it."

Best game-day atmosphere: "Virginia Tech when they played Miami [in 2011]. Just because it was a packed crowd and a really intense game, back-and-forth until the last minute. It went down to the wire, and the crowd was wild and crazy once Virginia Tech won. That was my first college game ever."
