2014 LB receives Penn State offer
By Josh Moyer
Penn State sent out another scholarship offer Tuesday, this time to a 2014 linebacker out of Ohio.
Kyle Berger (Cleveland/Saint Ignatius) -- who finished with 39 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks last season -- labeled the scholarship "exciting." He now boasts six offers: PSU, Cincinnati, Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State and West Virginia.
"I'm definitely pumped about that offer," Berger said. "They've always had a great tradition of linebackers there, and it's exciting to know that they believe I could add to that tradition."
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound junior could make a decision sooner rather than later. He's aiming to commit by April, so schools like Penn State will have to woo him quickly.
He was on the Buckeyes' campus this past weekend, and he spoke with coach Urban Meyer for about 75 minutes. He might let his basketball season play out before visiting elsewhere, and he'll likely drive to Happy Valley in the near future.
Berger is also receiving interest from Georgia Tech, Iowa, Michigan, Notre Dame, Stanford, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
