ATH Willis now 'firmly committed' to B.C.

By Josh Moyer

Three-star athlete Myles Willis missed a call from Penn State assistant Ted Roof on Saturday -- a call he expected would let him know whether he'd add a PSU offer -- but Willis said it doesn't matter anymore.

The senior out of Atlanta (Ga.) Marist is "firmly committed" to Boston College now, he said.

"During this week, I spoke with my family and coaches, and we all feel that [Steve] Addazio is the man I should play for," he said. "We were able to learn a lot more about him, and we trust him and know that this is truly his dream job."

Earlier this week, Willis -- whom PSU recruited as a cornerback -- said he hoped to make an official visit to Happy Valley upon receiving an offer. Former teammates and coaches spoke well of Roof, and Willis wanted to see the school before making a decision.

But the more he talked with his parents and the more he reflected on Addazio's in-home visit, the more he believed Boston College was the right decision after all.

"The biggest thing at first was I didn't know this guy," Willis said. "But I see him forming a staff, and I'm confident he's going to be there my four years.

"He told me that the offense is good, it's really great for wide receivers, but he said it's a perfect fit for me. So it feels good."

Willis will play tailback for the Eagles. Even if he discovers he has a Penn State offer, he said that's not going to change anything. His mind is made up.

"I don't have to worry about looking at any other schools," he said. "I'm a B.C. commit."
