With national signing day just three months away, Penn State has been making a late push for more 2013 commitments.
NittanyNation takes a closer look at five prospects who already hold offers and could soon make their decisions:
CB Deondre Singleton, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer
Competing schools: Air Force, Appalachian State, Marshall, Miami (Ohio)
Synopsis: His high school coach used to play under Charlie Fisher, so Penn State was able to find out about this DB early in the process. Singleton is also hearing a lot from Wisconsin, Tennessee and Kentucky, so he's not just some unknown recruit. PSU told him it wants him as a nickelback.
Why hasn't he committed yet? He said he needs to see a school with his own eyes first before he commits because he doesn't just want to pledge based simply on what he hears. So, he's making plans for an official visit Dec. 7.
Chances of committing: Very high. His coach is talking up Penn State, he's chatted with PSU commit Kasey Gaines, and Penn State is the largest school to offer so far. He has just two officials scheduled -- Appalachian State, Penn State -- and one of his priorities in a school includes "big crowds." Barring a new offer, it would be a surprise if he didn't land in Happy Valley.
