With Pitt struggling and Penn State still reeling from unprecedented sanctions, West Virginia has quietly entered the competition for Pennsylvania recruits.

The Nittany Lions have lost more in-state recruits (3) than they still have committed (2), while the Mountaineers now boast four commits from Pennsylvania -- three of whom are top-15 players in the state.

Can PSU still wind up with more Pennsylvania recruits? Will West Virginia become the new top destination for the prospects? And what is Pitt's role here?
