Matt McGloin's journey to starting quarterback has been an improbable one.

He was the confident high school quarterback with a horde of trophies and no scholarship offers. He was the incoming freshman, a preferred walk-on no one thought would sniff the field. And now he's the senior signal-caller who shoulders the hopes of this Penn State season.

McGloin overcame the odds just to make it on the roster ... then came a scholarship, backup role and now the starting job.
