PSU at No. 25 in latest recruiting rankings

December, 10, 2012
After a busy recruiting weekend that included four new commits, the Nittany Lions moved up a spot in ESPN's latest recruiting rankings and are once again ranked in the top 25.

Penn State switched spots with Baylor and is now No. 25, which is third best in the Big Ten. Ohio State is No. 5, while Michigan is ranked No. 6.

The additions of four-star wideout DaeSean Hamilton and three-star athlete Zayd Issah especially helped Penn State in the rankings. ESPN's scouts labeled Hamilton as an outstanding receiver with the potential to turn "average receptions into big gainers," while Issah earned praise because "his combination of size/strength/speed and feel for the game regardless of role is impressive."

Penn State's class now includes 17 commits, three of whom are in the ESPN 300.

Big Ten teams behind the Lions include Wisconsin (No. 30), Michigan State (No. 32), Nebraska (No. 33) and Illinois (No. 39). Rutgers is ranked No. 37.
