PSU targeting B.C. commit LeShun Daniels

11/4/2012

Tailback LeShun Daniels (Warren, Ohio/Warren G. Harding) said he remains committed to Boston College -- for now -- but it seems as if the Penn State target is open to other options.

He holds no offer yet from the Nittany Lions, but he was on the sideline last week for the Ohio State game. And Penn State's staff is showing serious interest.

"I just wanted to take a visit up there just to see how it is, because you never know what could happen in the future, because everything's not finalized yet," the three-star prospect said. "I'm still going through the recruiting process."

Penn State assistants Charlie Fisher and Charles London invited him up to Happy Valley, and Daniels was happy to oblige. He said the coaches told him they evaluated more of his film and planned to talk once the season ended.

Until then, Daniels said he's just trying to roll with whatever might pop up.

"I'm just sort of playing it by ear from here on out because, right now, I'm committed to Boston College," he said. "But it all depends how things play down the line."

Daniels said he most admired Boston College's facilities and academics. At Penn State, he was moved by a sea of chanting fans and enjoyed the big campus.

Those two schools remain the only ones he has visited this season -- despite holding offers from Akron and Bowling Green -- and Daniels said he's not sure what he'd do if Penn State offered.

"I mean, I'd have to weigh my options to see if I would really like to go there," he said. "It's still a problem with me, that whole bowl situation and stuff, and I really like Boston College.

"So I don't know."
