On the heels of an incredible national signing day, Ohio State had an equally good junior day on Sunday when offensive tackle Kyle Trout gave his commitment to the Buckeyes just ahead of defensive end Lawrence Marshall and speedy running back Parris Campbell Jr.
But it wasn’t all about commitments as big targets from 2014 -- Jamarco Jones -- and 2015 -- Damien Harris -- spoke well of their visits, too.
Friday saw a list of juniors ready to visit Ohio State this weekend, though a late change of plans kept Myles Autry and Nick Chubb from visiting Columbus, Ohio. By the way, offensive linemen will be the focus of the Buckeyes in this recruiting class.

Ryan Timmons has committed to Kentucky.
The ESPN 300 prospect from Frankfort (Ky.) Franklin considered late offers from Florida and Ohio State but ultimately chose to stay close to home, according to his head coach Chris Tracy. Kentucky became more of a factor in Timmons' recruitment when it made a coaching change. Timmons quickly grew close to first-year Wildcats head coach Mark Stoops and his staff.
Timmons announced the decision at his school. He will sign his national letter of intent on Wednesday, national signing day.

Ryan Timmons' decision is near. Ohio State, Kentucky and Florida will be paying close attention.
The athlete prospect from Frankfort (Ky.) Franklin will announce his decision from his school at 1 p.m. EST Tuesday. After an official visit to Gainesville last weekend, the decision will be much more difficult.
"It was a great visit, enjoyed the facilities, makes it harder to pick," the No. 249 prospect in the country said.

In the latest -- and last -- big board, BuckeyeNation will try filling out Ohio State’s 2013 recruiting class.
Some names have flown off the radar quickly in an ever-changing landscape.
In essence, there really are only five names left for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State’s only Oregon commitment to take an official visit was Dontre Wilson (DeSoto, Texas/DeSoto) and the Buckeyes are starting to cut their numbers down in terms of possible suitors for the slot receiver/wide receiver position to fill out the 2013 recruiting class.

@dmost: Is there any impact on existing recruits helping to land additional top-tier recruits who are on the fence?

The last 48 hours have been interesting.
Ohio State target Dan Skipper flipped from Tennessee to Arkansas and Ryan Timmons said he wouldn’t be coming to Columbus, Ohio, to make another unofficial visit.
Such is the life of recruiting with national signing day in sight.

Hold on. Grab on to whatever you can to do so.
The recruiting at Ohio State just keeps moving at a faster pace and doesn’t appear to be slowing down until after national signing day.
Here’s a snapshot of what has happened to the Buckeyes in just a seven-day period.
Sunday brought some fireworks. OK, a lot of them.

National signing day sits nine days away. Ohio State wants a wide receiver.
Badly.
It's the position the Buckeyes are spending the most time trying to figure out, and there's no telling what might happen come Feb. 6. But here are the players -- in what we think is the order -- being considered, many of them with offers Ohio State gave out in the last few weeks.

Ohio State’s quest for an offensive lineman just might net them two.
Both players are committed elsewhere, but both have been active looking around in the past few weeks.

Two weekends ago, it looked like Ohio State might get the chance to lock up a wide receiver.
Corey Smith (Akron, Ohio/East Mississippi CC), Cornelius Elder (Nashville, Tenn./Ensworth) and Shelton Gibson (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) were on campus on official visits.
Ryan Timmons (Frankfort, Ky./Franklin County) was scheduled to come as well, but backed out at the last moment. Incidentally, Timmons picked up an offer from the Buckeyes on Tuesday night so that could change things again.
Smith is a Mississippi State commitment, but still loves the Ohio State. Elder has the Buckeyes and UCLA in his final two. Gibson has committed to West Virginia.
While Timmons is still in play -- Ohio State visited him Tuesday -- Oregon commit Dontre Wilson (DeSoto, Texas/DeSoto) is scheduled to come to town this weekend.
Incidentally, James Clark (New Smyrna Beach, Fla./New Smyrna Beach) could be a late add to this weekend’s official visit list as well. He has an in-home visit with the Buckeyes tonight.
The following weekend another Duck, this one -- Darren Carrington (San Diego/Horizon) -- has an official visit lined up as well.
Tyree Robinson (San Diego/Lincoln) and his twin brother Tyrell Robinson were scheduled to make an official visit this weekend, but have parted ways with Ohio State.
If they can lock up Wilson it might push things along in the process with others.
Wilson likes Oregon’s promotion of former offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich, but still wants to look around. He has always liked the Buckeyes, so a complete sell job could be the difference.
A wide receiver commitment could also hurry the process along a bit for other targets.
With Urban Meyer and Co. filling up another spot in a class with so few precious ones remaining, a commitment from a lineman like Dan Skipper (Arvada, Col./Ralston Valley) or Cameron Hunt (Corona, Calif./Centennial) could come sooner rather than later.
It won’t likely affect ESPN 150 safety Vonn Bell (Rossville, Ga./Ridgeland), who will wait until signing day, but maybe it brings one of the aforementioned receivers to Columbus, Ohio.
Either way, a pledge this weekend should get the ball rolling. Otherwise, expect an insanely hectic final week for the Buckeyes as they wrap up their 2013 recruiting class.

Patience is paying off for Ryan Timmons as big-time scholarship offers keep coming in.
Ohio State offered the ESPN 300 athlete during a visit to Timmons' school on Tuesday. Timmons has long expressed interest in the Buckeyes, but coaches there had yet to extend a scholarship offer. Timmons said head coach Urban Meyer explained the situation and that there were no hard feelings about the delay.
"He said he's not a guy that's going to offer a guy and take it away," the athlete prospect from Frankfort (Ky.) Franklin County said.
The Ohio State offer came two days after Florida offered the 5-foot-11, 180-pound prospect. Former Kentucky head coach Joker Phillips visited Timmons on Monday. He is now the receivers coach at Florida.
