ESPN 150 tight end Jeb Blazevich (Charlotte, NC/Charlotte Christian) went flying off the board to Georgia on Tuesday. Ian Bunting (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) followed suit to Michigan, and Nic Weishar (Chicago/Marist) took his talents to Notre Dame.

The writers at WolverineNation and BuckeyeNation put their heads together to break down the rivals' 2013 recruiting classes. They'll give readers a position-by-position look at who coaches Brady Hoke and Urban Meyer signed and, ultimately, which class edged out the other. It's too early to say what will happen through the next few seasons, and we won't make any promises except that Hoke and Meyer are going to put talent on the field.
Ohio State got: The Buckeyes hit the West Coast at the position, picking up Marcus Baugh (Riverside, Calif./John W. North) as the only tight end signee in the 2013 class. He committed on April 10 despite never having stepped on campus other than to take in a basketball game at Value City Arena with his cousins when he was younger.

Before those workouts begin, BuckeyeNation will take a look at each position to see where the roster is at -- and where it's going.
TIGHT ENDS
- Who's back: The Buckeyes had enough confidence in two young guys to make one slight adjustment in moving Jake Stoneburner from tight end to wide receiver. That move paid off so well, the coaching staff made an even bigger change thanks to the development and contributions of sophomore Jeff Heuerman and freshman Nick Vannett, handing them additional responsibilities formerly held by fullback Zach Boren when the senior was shifted over to linebacker in the middle of the year. The young tight ends proved to be stout blockers and were reliable targets in the passing game in complementary roles, and with two years of eligibility left for Heuerman and three for Vannett, that position is in great shape moving forward with the spread offense.
- New face: After a year on the sideline, former three-star recruit Blake Thomas doesn't qualify as new to the program, but he's looking at perhaps his first real shot to try to crack the rotation this spring. The Buckeyes landed a signature from ESPN 150 tight end Marcus Baugh on signing day, but he won't be on the field with the team until fall.

We can almost put a bow on the 2013 recruiting class -- punter Johnny Townsend has not signed his letter of intent and is apparently having second thoughts -- and it was one of the best recruiting classes in school history.
The Buckeyes signed 24 players and finished third in the ESPN class rankings behind SEC powers Alabama and Florida, with 19 of the 24 signees at four stars or more.

After walking away from Michigan without a commitment, an ESPN 300 offensive guard arrived in Columbus, Ohio, just in time to watch Ohio State knock off the second-ranked Michigan Wolverines in men’s basketball.

Ohio State is looking to have its third big recruiting weekend in the last six weeks when it hosts eight official visitors Friday through Saturday.
Like before, it’s a weekend jammed with star-quality power from the 2013 class and one the Buckeyes hope puts a bow on an already-strong class.
While commit Johnny Townsend can’t make it, a late name has been added in Mississippi State commit Corey Smith and it’s one that should bring some interest, as the former Akron (Ohio) Buchtel standout was an Ohio State fan when he was a senior.

It looks as if Ohio State hasn’t given up in finding an offensive lineman to round out its 2013 recruiting class.

Marcus Baugh, Joey Bosa and Jalin Marshall have a tough act to follow this weekend.
The Ohio State commits have to try and at least equal what Ezekiel Elliott, Tracy Sprinkle, Tim Gardner, Cam Burrows, Billy Price, Evan Lisle, Darron Lee and Jayme Thompson did the first week of December.
The eight Buckeyes pledges were on hand for official visits a month ago along with Mike Mitchell, Donovan Munger, Gareon Conley and Tommy Sanders.

When Vonn Bell (Rossville, Ga./Ridgeland) announced he was planning to take official visits to Alabama, Ohio State and Tennessee shortly after his team’s state runner-up finish, BuckeyeNation said the trip to Ohio would be important.

If fans don’t know about many of the Ohio State commitments in the recruiting class of 2013, it might be a good idea to watch some of the all-star games this weekend as nine pledges will be in action with a 10th getting recognized as well.
The sixth annual Under Armour All-America Game leads things off Friday with some of the biggest names, as defensive tackle Joey Bosa (70 tackles, 9½ sacks), cornerback Cam Burrows (39 tackles, 14 pass breakups, fumble recovery), athlete Jalin Marshall (2,186 total yards, 25 Tds) and two-way star Gareon Conley (1,096 receiving yards, 16 Tds, 25 tackles, 2 fumble recoveries, interception) headline the event.
Also joining the four ESPN 150 seniors will be ESPN 300 tight end Marcus Baugh (38 catches, 610 yards, 4 Tds). Baugh showed up big for the Buckeyes on Wednesday when he won the American Family Insurance Skills Challenge at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports for offensive and defensive linemen.

Ranked 46th overall in the ESPN 150, Bosa played a versatile role for the Raiders this season, lining up at nose tackle, defensive tackle and defensive end for St. Thomas Aquinas. Despite an injury early in the season, Bosa finished with 70 tackles -- 27 for loss -- and added a team-leading 9.5 sacks.
