OSU Buckeyes: David Dawson
No Webb of mystery, Damon is all OSU
When the junior committed to Ohio State on Jan. 13, Webb knew what was awaiting him at home after choosing the Buckeyes even though his school is known as a feeder program for Michigan. Six athletes in the last four recruiting classes play football for the Wolverines with many more preceding them.

Notebook: Super Bowls and superlatives
Actually, Buckeyes fans should stand up and smile as they are well represented in Super Bowl XLVII with Donte Whitner, Ted Ginn Jr., Alex Boone and Larry Grant all playing for the San Francisco 49ers.
With four former Ohio State standouts in the game, the Buckeyes have more players in this year’s Super Bowl than any Southeastern Conference team and as many as Oregon and Miami (Fla.).

OSU being defensive about offensive line
Next up are possibly California commit Cameron Hunt (Corona, Calif./Centennial), Tennessee pledge Dan Skipper (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley) or even Dylan Wiesman (Cincinnati/Colerain).
It’s not like the Buckeyes aren’t trying to shore up the trenches on the offensive line in the recruiting class of 2013. With only Evan Lisle (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) and Tim Gardner (Indianapolis/Lawrence Central) as offensive linemen coming in as fresh faces next season, Ohio State is still looking.

Mailbag: Johnson, Mitchell, Quick, more
@TravisRockhold: Does Ohio State have a realistic chance of flipping Kenny Lacy? Is this a backup if they can’t flip David Dawson?
BN: There is a slim chance of flipping Lacy. A source very close to the situation in Phoenix said Lacy is taking his time and going on visits to see whether the Bruins are still No. 1. Lacy went on Twitter Friday morning and said “I am a man of my word, it's #bruinnation #NewBreed.” He canceled a visit to Michigan this weekend, but has a visit lined up in January with the Buckeyes. While I still think Dawson is the first choice, Lacy is no slouch at all as an offensive tackle.

ESPN 150 OG Dawson books OSU official
But the 6-foot-4, 282-pound ESPN 150 senior won’t be making the trip when many of the 2013 targets are coming to Ohio State, and that could be a good thing.
Dawson indicated that his trip is slated for Jan. 18 -- a full week after Kenny Lacy, Cornelius Elder, Shelton Gibson, James Hearns, Ryan Timmons, Marcus Baugh, Johnny Townsend and Jalin Marshall are making their visits to see the Buckeyes.

OSU wraps up great recruiting week
When Gareon Conley (Massillon, Ohio/Washington) and Donovan Munger (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights) gave their pledge to Ohio State Friday and Sunday, respectively, it marked a huge day for the Buckeyes, who now have eight ESPN 150 athletes in their recruiting class.
Conley brings raw talent to the mix and is an incredible asset to an already strong secondary in the class.
