Ohio State is coming on late for Chicago Simeon shooting guard Kendrick Nunn, who is ranked No. 54 in the ESPN 100.
The senior released Friday a list of five schools he was considering to attend -- in alphabetical order, they are Illinois, Marquette, Memphis, Ohio State and UCLA.
On Ohio State: "For some reason, we didn't hear from them for 18 months," his father Melvin Nunn said to ESPNChicago.com. "I guess they liked the way they performed. They were trying to find a way to love him. Kendrick always had interest in Ohio State. He was just going to let his game do the talking. He got a call from them and offered. He loves Ohio State, and he won't get into, 'Where were you guys two years ago?' They got in before it's too late."

Franklin Howard (Washington, D.C./Gonzaga College) has been driving lanes long before he could drive a car. By doing so, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard is driving college offers up as well.
A star in the class of 2015, Howard -- who still doesn’t have a driver’s license -- picked up offers from Miami and Ohio State over the weekend to add to an already-impressive list that includes Florida, Georgetown, Seton Hall and Villanova.
“I’m happy I was able to pick up those offers,” Howard said. “It’s what I’ve been dreaming of my whole life. Since I’ve started playing basketball, I’ve always wanted to get all these offers, all these looks.’

When ESPN 100 power forward Devin Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio/Montverde Academy) broke a backboard earlier this month at the LeBron James Skills Academy, he sent a message even if he didn’t convert the dunk.
That message was heard and now the 6-foot-8, 220-pound Williams has an offer from Ohio State.
Because he’s an Ohioan – Williams played at Cincinnati Withrow until transferring to Montverde (Fla.) Academy – the Buckeyes’ interest went a long way.
