- Outside linebacker Sam Hubbard was committed to Notre Dame for lacrosse, but that all changed when Ohio State showed football interest. The Cincinnati Moeller standout became the sixth player to commit to Ohio State for its 2014 class.
- Hubbard in a word: Versatile. He is one of many top recruits in Columbus this weekend.

- They're pretty deep along the offensive front, too, writes ESPN Big Ten blogger Brian Bennett. And that's made spring practice a little different this year for Ed Warinner, whose biggest task is to figure out who will be the right tackle.
- Bennett spent Tuesday and Wednesday in Columbus and made some spring observations about the Buckeyes.
- Braxton Miller has a new haircut but isn't getting a big head, Bennett writes. He's learning to become a better scrambler instead of just a great runner, Ward writes.

- If you're around on Thursdays at 2 p.m, don't miss Austin Ward's hour-long chat in ESPN SportsNation. He covered a lot of topics last week.
