More top recruits on Ohio State campus

By Brad Bournival

Demarre Kitt (Tyrone, Ga./Sandy Creek) won’t be alone today on Ohio State’s campus.

He’s bringing teammate and defensive tackle Chris Williams as well.

Defensive end Verondtae Wilkinson (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood-Madison) is a late addition as well in a two-day period that will bring some big names to campus.

Demarre Kitt is one of many headliners that will be making their way to Ohio State this week.
On Friday, outside linebacker Sam Hubbard (Cincinnati/Moeller), athlete Jabrill Peppers (Paramus, N.J./Paramus Catholic) and offensive tackle Juwann Bushell-Beatty (Paramus, N.J./Paramus Catholic) will tour the campus.

Here’s a better look at the additions of Williams and Wilkinson as well as a behind-the-scenes view of Friday’s visitors:

Chris Williams

Offers: Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Ohio State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt

Outlook: It’s a tentative top five, but it’s a top five nonetheless. Ohio State is there for Williams along with Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Tennessee and South Carolina, and a strong visit could do wonders in the recruitment of the 6-foot-1, 283-pound DT.

Verondtae Wilkinson

Offers: Buffalo, Illinois, Ohio, Toledo

Outlook: The Buckeyes, who have former teammate Cam Burrows already in the fold, are showing interest in the 6-3, 225-pound Wilkinson. It will be interesting to see what comes of this visit.

Jabrill Peppers

Offers: Alabama, Boston College, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee, UCLA, USC

Outlook: The Watch List junior is visiting Michigan along with Bushell-Beatty before heading to Columbus, Ohio. The 6-foot, 185-pound Peppers has LSU, Michigan, Ohio State and Stanford among his leaders.

Juwann Bushell-Beatty

Offers: Florida, Florida State, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Rutgers, Tennessee, UMass, West Virginia

Outlook: The 6-6, 320-pound Bushell-Beatty was impressed with his visit to Penn State -- the Nittany Lions haven’t offered him yet -- and will be in Columbus for the first time. He’d be an attractive package deal along with Peppers.

Sam Hubbard

Offers: Boston College, Illinois, Louisville, Miami (Fla.), Miami (Ohio), Michigan State, Ohio, Ohio State, Stanford

Outlook: Keep an eye out on the 6-5, 225-pound Hubbard. He recently decommitted from Notre Dame lacrosse and has the Buckeyes as his only spring visit. His sister goes to Ohio State and the draw of an in-state offer might be enough to lure Hubbard to Columbus.
