Scouts: Wilson could fill the Harvin role
By Tom Luginbill
The Buckeyes gained an explosive offensive piece Monday night with the addition of Under Armour All-American athlete Dontre Wilson (DeSoto, Texas/DeSoto).
We can’t imagine the pitch from Ohio State to Wilson didn’t include a very descriptive idea of his role within the offense as compared to Percy Harvin at Florida, where Harvin was employed as a utility weapon both in the backfield and on the perimeter. This is what makes Wilson so valuable to a spread offensive set and why Oregon had coveted him all along. As always, recruiting is a marathon and not a sprint. The Buckeyes were in hot pursuit in the end and took advantage of the coaching change at Oregon. It obviously played in their favor. Now we will see whether pen truly goes to paper Wednesday.
