Mailbag: Concern over finishing 2013
By Brad Bournival
It’s time to dip into the BuckeyeNation recruiting mailbag and answer some of your questions.
We encourage you to send your questions by Twitter at @bbournival, e-mail at email@example.com or by posting a question in the Horseshoe Pit forum.
@dmost: Is there any impact on existing recruits helping to land additional top-tier recruits who are on the fence?
BuckeyeNation: In the land of recruiting, any little bit helps. It’s not by accident that during Ohio State’s two big recruiting weekends -- Dec. 7 and Jan. 11 -- the Buckeyes brought seniors who were already commitments along with those who were big targets. Jayme Thompson was in Trey Johnson’s ear all week before he committed to Ohio State at the Under Armour All-America Game. While they pretty much let other recruits make their own decisions, if a recruit has a question, a Buckeyes commit is sure to answer.
@buckeyewilliams: I know he said, "no hard feelings." What are the chances with Ryan Timmons and landing him with such a late offer?
It might be tough to pull offensive lineman Cameron Hunt from the West Coast.
BN: Don’t read too much into the late offer. He said he’d take his last official visit to Florida, but Timmons already knows what Ohio State is all about.
I don’t think Hunt is in the equation and look for two receivers to come out of that mix. If ESPN 150 safety Vonn Bell decides to say Ohio State on Feb. 6, expect just one.
@jbraverman:Call it now, who finishes the class?
BN: If the Buckeyes can survive Clark’s unofficial visit to Florida this weekend, the four-star wide receiver is in the fold. Wilson stays a Duck. Timmons becomes a Florida Gator and Smith, whose playing days in high school were at Akron (Ohio) Buchtel, chooses Ohio State.
