Three-star OT Skipper flips commitment
By Bob Przbylo
When three-star offensive tackle Dan Skipper (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley) committed to Tennessee in June, Jim Chaney and Sam Pittman were both assistant coaches for the Volunteers.
Following a series of coaching changes, Chaney and Pittman were out at Tennessee in the fall and quickly found a home at Arkansas under new coach Bret Bielema.
Now Skipper has found his home with the Razorbacks. Skipper confirmed Monday afternoon he has flipped his commitment from Tennessee to Arkansas.
“I have a great relationship with the coaches and believe they’re doing everything they can to improve the program,” Skipper said.
Skipper, who is 6-foot-8 and 285 pounds, was on the radar for Ohio State and Michigan and took visits to both programs in the last month. But a trip last weekend to Arkansas put the Razorbacks in the lead for one of the tallest prospects in the 2013 class.
Skipper is ranked No. 53 at tackle and is Arkansas’ highest-ranked tackle. He is also continues the momentum the Razorbacks have earned in the last 24 hours.
Arkansas earned three commits from three of its official visitors on Sunday, and with Skipper now in the fold, the Razorbacks have 17 commits for its 2013 crop.
