Fourth Oregon pledge plans OSU official

By Brad Bournival

There could be a fourth Duck visiting Mirror Lake for Ohio State if things play out the way they’re headed now for the Buckeyes.

With Dontre Wilson (DeSoto, Texas/DeSoto) and the Robinson twins -- Tyree and Tyrell -- scheduled to take official visits to Columbus, Ohio this weekend, Darren Carrington (San Diego/Horizon) is planning on doing the same on Feb. 1.

All are committed to Oregon, but Carrington is coming already knowing what he likes about the Buckeyes.

“Next weekend, not this weekend, yes,” said Carrington of his plans. “It’s Coach Urban Meyer and his staff and the development they’ve done with the wide receivers in the past.”

While he’s still very much a Ducks commit, he had a good visit with Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Herman and wide receivers coach Zach Smith on Monday.

“Hopefully I can see what it’s like living out there,” Carrington said. “How the people interact and seeing what it’s like out there.”

The 6-foot-4, 184-pound, four-star wide receiver committed to Oregon on June 20.

He caught 51 passes for 900 yards and scored 14 touchdowns as a senior.

The Buckeyes have not offered Carrington a scholarship yet, but have plenty of time to do so before his scheduled visit.
