WR James Clark ready for a 'break'
By Brad Bournival
Less than two weeks before signing day, the opinions of recruits can change rapidly. That played out on Sunday with a receiver from Florida.
James Clark (New Smyrna Beach, Fla./New Smyrna Beach) told RecruitingNation reporter Derek Tyson that his official visit to Clemson was a 10.
After that he started talking about the future and an official visit to Florida -- his last -- next weekend.
“I’m kind of ready to take a break,” Clark told Tyson. “I’ve been to Florida about five times already, so I probably won’t end up going. I’m probably not going to Ohio State, either.”
Later that evening, the four-star Clark changed his tune.
“There’s a chance I may visit Ohio State this weekend,” he said.
It’s been a whirlwind week for Clark and the Buckeyes, who offered a scholarship to the 5-foot-11, 175-pound senior on Monday.
Clark would fill a need for the Buckeyes, who have Taivon Jacobs (Forestville, Md./Suitland) and ESPN 150 senior Jalin Marshall (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown) committed at receiver.
Clark caught 49 passes for 1,112 yards and eight touchdowns his senior season.
