Ohio State offers 2,000-yard wide receiver
By Brad Bournival
Over the weekend, Urban Meyer went to the state up north and pulled his first Michigan man from the junior ranks as Ohio State’s coach.
Now, the two-time national champion is trying to flip one from the Great Lakes State.
A day after picking up commitment No. 2 in the recruiting class of 2014 in Damon Webb (Detroit/Cass Tech), Meyer offered a huge junior in Michigan State commit Drake Harris (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian).
Harris led Grand Rapids Christian to a Division 4 state title this season in style, recording eight catches for a state championship record 243 yards and a touchdown.
He finished the season with 91 catches for 2,016 yards and scored 23 touchdowns.
Along with the Spartans, Harris has offers from Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Harris has been Michigan State commitment since June 27.
