ESPN 300 OG starts OSU official visit
By Brad Bournival
After walking away from Michigan without a commitment, an ESPN 300 offensive guard arrived in Columbus, Ohio, just in time to watch Ohio State knock off the second-ranked Michigan Wolverines in men’s basketball.
That’s what started Cameron Hunt’s official visit with the Buckeyes.
Friends with Ohio State commit Marcus Baugh, who he roomed with during Under Armour All-America week, Hunt (Corona, Calif./Centennial) renewed acquaintances with the tight end, as the two were on official visits.
Hunt’s visit, however, will run past the weekend as the senior came straight from Ann Arbor, Mich., to Ohio State for his next official visit.
"I flew straight here from Michigan," Hunt said. "I'm leaving here [Monday] night so I can get back for school before I head to Oregon on Friday."
The 6-foot-4, 267-pound is rated No. 275 overall and is the 15th-ranked guard in the nation according to ESPN.
While he’s a California commit, he’s still looking. Once Ohio State offered, Hunt knew he had to take a visit.
"It was big. When they started talking to me, I wasn't sure that they would offer," Hunt said. "Once they did, I knew I had to make it out here. It made the most sense to do it right now."
Hunt was in Ann Arbor this weekend, but saw former Nebraska commit Dan Samuelson (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth) flip to Michigan, likely knocking him out of the running with the Wolverines.
