Several 2014 prospects set for OSU visit
By Brad Bournival
By now the names should roll off the tongue regarding official visitors this weekend to the Ohio State Buckeyes.
But there are a group of unofficial visitors making their way to Columbus, Ohio, as juniors, as well. The last time an underclassman joined official visitors, it resulted in an offer, as Canton (Ohio) McKinley athlete Eric-Glover Williams was put on the Buckeyes’ board out of the class of 2015.
Here are the five juniors scheduled to come this weekend for the Buckeyes:
Kyle Berger: Ohio State was the first to offer the outside linebacker. Since then, he has picked up offers from Cincinnati, Illinois and West Virginia. He also has interest from Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, Stanford and Vanderbilt.
Marcelys Jones: The first commitment out of the class of 2014 for Ohio State, Jones is one of four Cleveland Glenville athletes on campus this weekend -- Christopher Worley is taking an official visit -- and might be counted on to recruit future pledges this weekend.
Marshon Lattimore: It’s a Glenville-type weekend for Ohio State, as the wide receiver will be on campus, as well. Lattimore currently has offers from Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Penn State, Toledo and USC.
Erick Smith: An up-and-coming safety, Smith is another Glenville product. He has offers from Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Illinois and North Carolina State. Smith also has interest from Michigan and Pittsburgh, as well as the Buckeyes.
Damon Webb: A big fan of Ohio State, the ESPN Watch List cornerback from Detroit's Cass Tech has a laundry list full of offers. So far Illinois, Indiana, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Toledo, West Virginia and Wisconsin are among the schools requesting his services. Florida and USC are also showing interest.
