Ohio State offers ESPN Watch List OT
By Brad Bournival
Urban Meyer’s love for the trenches continued late Tuesday when Ohio State offered yet another offensive tackle.
This time the two-time national champion dipped his toes in the Midwest to offer an ESPN Watch List junior. It’s the 15th offensive tackle the Buckeyes have offered from the class of 2014 and the 17th lineman overall.
And it’s a big man as Ohio State hopes the 6-foot-6, 320-pound Roderick Johnson (Florissant, Mo./Hazelwood Central) joins an already big Buckeyes junior commit in 6-4, 325-pound Marcelys Jones.
Johnson led his high school team to the Class 6 playoffs this season and is already drawing major interest from some of the top programs in the nation.
He has offers from Iowa, Michigan State and Missouri to go along with the one he received from the Buckeyes.
Johnson also has interest from Illinois, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Wisconsin.
He is the 12th ESPN Watch List offensive linemen to be offered by Ohio State.
