Nothing offensive about Ohio State's D-line

By Brad Bournival

Ohio State can’t forget it, now the Buckeyes want everyone to remember it.

Urban Meyer wins with a surplus of defensive linemen.

Joey Bosa
ESPN 150 prospect Joey Bosa is one of six defensive linemen who have committed to the Buckeyes in the Class of 2013.
When he was coaching at Florida, Meyer rotated his men in the trenches more than a service station changes tires.

It led to a 41-14 win over Ohio State in the national championship game in a contest where they held the Buckeyes to 82 yards of offense.

Now at Ohio State, Meyer is doing much of the same, with over a dozen defensive linemen already in the fold and another six coming in from the 2013 recruiting class.

That class has some huge names with two defensive players of the year in Tracy Sprinkle (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria) and ESPN 300 defensive tackle Billy Price (Youngstown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch).

Add ESPN 150 defensive tackle Under Armour All-American Joey Bosa (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) with his 70 tackles -- 27 for loss -- and 9 sacks, and this unit gets even stronger.

“I think we have some pretty talented guys in this class,” Sprinkle said. “It could be one of the best classes Ohio State has had in a long time.

“Hopefully with Coach Meyer and what he’s doing down there right now, we can come in and keep that up. Where we’re strongest, it’s got to be the defensive side. Guys are just dominating.”

Close it out with ESPN 300 defensive tackles Donovan Munger (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights) and Michael Hill (Pendleton, SC/Pendleton) along with hybrid defensive end/linebacker Tyquan Lewis (Tarboro, NC/Tarboro) and this bunch has the fixings to be an incredible class.
