Three-star Dylan Wiesman drops Bearcats
By Jared Shanker
Cincinnati has suffered another decommitment since Tommy Tuberville was named coach last week.
Three-star guard Dylan Wiesman from nearby Cincinnati Colerain said he is opening up his recruitment. He said the coaching change coupled with the shaky situation the Big East is in as a conference created the perfect storm for a decommitment.
"The fact that the Big East isn't what it used to be and the new staff change makes it hard to deal with all at once," Wiesman said.
Wiesman has talked with the new coaches, and the No. 43 guard in the nation is not dropping the Bearcats completely. He will still consider Cincinnati.
"It's still an option to me," he said. "I just want to see if there's other schools that best fit me."
One of those schools could be "possibly Ohio State," Wiesman said. Buckeyes assistant coach Kerry Coombs used to be the head coach at Colerain and was an assistant at Cincinnati before joining Urban Meyer's staff at Ohio State before the 2012 season.
"I'm still waiting to see if anyone else picks up," he said.
Boston College, Duke, Kansas, Tennessee and West Virginia are a few of the other programs to offer Wiesman.
