Skai Moore ready for Wisconsin
By Corey Long
Three-star linebacker Skai Moore (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./University School) admits that his personal recruiting board is changing quickly.
Just a few weeks ago the 6-foot-3, 195-pound senior had a top three of Vanderbilt, Rutgers and Wake Forest and was expected to have made a decision by now.
Then Ohio State jumped in with an offer, followed by Wisconsin, and now Moore admits he’s had to reset everything.
“Really when I got the Ohio State offer it was pretty surprising,” Moore explained. “So I knew right away that I was going to have to make room for the Buckeyes.
“Then Wisconsin came with an offer about a week ago and after meeting coach [Charlie] Partridge, I saw how interested they were and I set up an official.”
Moore left for his official to Wisconsin on Saturday morning. He planned to go to Ohio State next weekend to watch the Buckeyes host Michigan but that trip has been canceled and he will visit Columbus in January.
Moore, who has already taken a visit to Vanderbilt, says he’s excited about his trip to Madison but wants to play it safe.
“I know Ohio State is coming to town and it’s going to be a crazy atmosphere,” Moore added. “It’s going to be hard not to get caught up in the excitement and when the crowd starts jumping around. But I have to keep an open mind to the process. There are a few more schools I am looking at.”
Yesterday Moore said he was visited by TCU defensive coordinator Randy Shannon and South Florida assistants Larry Scott and Kevin Patrick.
TCU has recently offered and Moore says he will likely take an official visit to South Florida in January.
“I like both schools really,” Moore added. “USF is close to home and they are the only in-state program that’s really looking at me right now.
“Coach Shannon is at TCU and he’s got a great history of producing solid defensive players. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens.”
