2015 standout with NFL blood to visit OSU
By Brad Bournival
Another player with NFL bloodlines will be making his way to Ohio State soon.
Chris Warren, whose famous father played for the Seattle Seahawks and was a three-time Pro Bowl selection, will be on campus July 22 on an unofficial visit and is coming with a checklist.
Class of 2015 tailback Chris Warren said he won't commit to a school until his senior year.
“I want to see the facilities and would also like to see the coaching staff,” Warren said. “I also want to see the campus and where it sits in relation to the field and facilities.”
The 6-foot-2 Warren, who plays running back at Rockwall (Texas) High School, wants to sit down and talk to Urban Meyer on his first visit to Ohio State.
When he has his one-on-one with Meyer, it’s not so much about playing time as it is schemes for the standout 2015 tailback.
“I want to talk about what I’d be doing up there specifically,” Warren said. “I want to know what they plan on doing with me.”
Warren has been high on the Buckeyes ever since they offered him back on May 20.
“The fact a team of Ohio State’s caliber is interested is great,” Warren said. “They’re one of the high-powered schools. It definitely is humbling, but it is a little expected because I’m working hard for these things. It’s humbling, though, because it’s a championship-type team.”
Warren rushed for 1,059 yards and 174 carries and scored 13 touchdowns last season. He also added 100 yards receiving and two scores receiving.
He also has offers from Baylor, Clemson, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, SMU, Texas, Texas Tech and Tulsa.
