WR Jalen Brown recaps Midwest visits

By Erik McKinney

Four-star wide receiver Jalen Brown (Phoenix, Ariz./Mountain Pointe) holds nearly 30 offers, including ones from some of the top programs in the country. This past week, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound athlete had an opportunity to see four of them up close, as Brown took a Midwest trip and visited Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Wisconsin.

Brown relayed via text what stood out about each visit.

On Ohio State: "With Ohio State I had a great time talking to all of the coaches and hearing how I would fit in the program and how I would be used. The campus was beautiful and it was great seeing the huge stadium. I was impressed with the quality of the facilities and my sit down talk with Urban Meyer"

On Michigan: "Next with Michigan I talked to a few new coaches that I haven't before and witnessed another fascinating campus. Another school with great tradition as well. I learned a few things about what their plans offensively were and the work being put into the facilities. Also seeing the largest college football stadium was fun."

On Michigan State: "Michigan State was interesting because of how they emphasized the importance of the people in the program and the type of players they have. Great people overall. Another school with a good offensive plan for next year and a place I could fit in."

On Wisconsin: "I had a great time on my visit here at Wisconsin. Coming in, I had an idea of what I believed would be my experience here, but I was shocked and enlightened. I had a fun-filled time touring the campus, but also an eye-opening sit down with the entire offensive coaching staff. I was given a lot of valuable information and shown that they have a high interest in me."

Brown added that he was impressed by the academic presentations of all four schools and their plan for him beyond college, whether it's playing professionally or finding a career.

At this point, Brown isn't in a rush to move through the recruiting process and he said he has his sights set on another group of unofficial visits. He said Oregon, Oregon State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt could be schools he sees later this summer. In addition to those programs, Brown also holds offers from Arkansas, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Stanford, UCLA and USC.
