Thaddeus Snodgrass adds 6th B1G offer

10/1/2012

Penn State joined several its of Big Ten brethren this weekend when it extended an offer to an 2014 ESPN Watch List wide receiver.

The Nittany Lions offered Springfield (Ohio) receiver Thaddeus Snodgrass on Friday.

The 6-foot, 174-pound junior already has offers from Big Ten programs Indiana, Michigan State, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin. Outside the conference, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame and Toledo have also extended offers.

Snodgrass is impressed with the Lions’ offense through five games under new coach Bill O’Brien.

“I like how they get their receivers the ball,” he wrote in a message.

Penn State assistant Stan Hixon spoke with Snodgrass following the offer, and it was just an opportunity for the two to get acquainted. Snodgrass already likes what Hixon had to tell him about the academics at Penn State.

“He would love for me to come to Penn State,” Snodgrass wrote.

Snodgrass has battled through a sprained foot this season but said he is back at 100 percent. It has been a tough year overall for Springfield, which is 1-5. Springfield will play its homecoming game this weekend, and Snodgrass will not be able to make it Saturday to Ohio State’s game so he can participate in homecoming.
