Caleb Henderson (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) has been high on Ohio State’s radar for several months, and the Mid-Atlantic quarterback could have taken one step closer to earning an offer from the Buckeyes following his performance at Friday Night Lights.
“I felt the camp went really well,” Henderson said. “I put the ball in the places it needed to be and felt I was really consistent with everything.”
Quarterbacks coach Tom Herman was talking with Henderson most of the night, and Henderson said Herman was happy with the way he threw.
“He said I did really well and he’ll be contacting me soon,” he said. “Hopefully that’s a good sign.”
Henderson was at Ohio State’s camp in late June, but that camp was held on the practice fields. This time he was able to work out in Ohio Stadium.
“It was awesome, especially to be in the Horseshoe at night,” he said. “I felt like it was the biggest privilege for me, and I was honored.”
The 6-foot-3, 222-pound quarterback has offers from Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, Virginia and Virginia Tech. He says he does not have a favorite.
“I’m still pretty open. I’m just really willing to see other schools and see what they have to offer,” Henderson said, “and besides that I want to have fun and focus on my team.”
