Upon second glance, Vonn Bell (Rossville, Ga./Ridgeland) is as advertised.
Competing in Sunday’s Senior Advanced Camp at Ohio State, the 6-foot, 190-pound, four-star safety stood out in one-on-one drills.
The 2013 recruit is the No. 63 prospect in the ESPN 150 after a junior year in which he had 119 tackles, five interceptions and five fumble recoveries, with three of those recoveries scoring touchdowns.
Sunday, he picked off two passes and scored twice on the offensive side of the ball during the individual sessions in the afternoon.
But the day was more about putting everything in place when it comes to Ohio State.
“You just got a second look at everything,” Bell said. “It was a better feeling being around these coaches and players again so you just get that home feeling. We got to see more things. We got to do more things while we were here. We’ve been up here since Friday.”
Making his second visit in the last two months to Columbus, Bell got some face time with Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer and assistant Everett Withers in particular.
“He loves coaching these types of players,” Bell said. “He loves to get elite players and everything and he’s just trying to make the national championship.”
With offers from schools such as Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame and Texas, Bell isn’t ready to pare down the list, but hinted that might be coming up soon.
