LSU, Florida, Alabama up next for Hill

Four-star defensive tackle Michael Hill (Pendleton, S.C./Pendleton) isn’t as close to committing to a school as some might think.

Though he liked his time at Ohio State this week, his schedule is packed with trips to other universities, according to his high school coach, Paul Sutherland.

“No, you won’t see a commitment,” Sutherland said. “I’d say late summer would be the earliest.”

Hill wanted to participate in Ohio State’s senior advanced camp on Sunday, but flight plans to LSU nixed that venture for the 6-foot-2, 315-pound 2013 recruit.

“Michael wanted to go to the camp, but his schedule would not allow it,” Sutherland said. “That’s what we wanted to do, that’s why we made arrangements for [earlier in the week]. He said Ohio State was everything he thought it would be and more.”

LSU isn’t the only landing spot for visits according to Sutherland, as Hill, who is ranked No. 227 in the ESPN 300, has trips to Florida and Alabama lined up.

“Those three [LSU, Florida and Alabama] are the ones he hasn’t been on any part of the campus. He is committed to seeing everything before he puts his short list out.

“Once he sees those three, then he’ll narrow it down. I think the Alabama trip is the last one, and it’s next weekend. It’s Father’s Day weekend. He’s planning on going to LSU then hitting Florida late in the week and then Alabama on the weekend. It will be a whirlwind week for him.”
